TELEHEALTH

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth encompasses Online Physiotherapy consults conducted using the Internet via Video Conferencing platforms such as Zoom.

Research has shown that Telehealth Consults are as effective as traditional ‘Face to Face’ consults in the treatment of chronic conditions such as Osteoarthritis.

Many osteoarthritis programs such as the GLA:D program for hip and knee osteoarthritis can be delivered effectively online using Telehealth. Patients with knee osteoarthritis found telehealth-delivered group-based education and exercise therapy to be highly acceptable, citing its convenience, flexibility, and comparable benefits to in-person care, including reduced pain and improved confidence in physical activity (Ezzat et al, 2022)
